Manhunt 2 release date

Manhunt 2’s release date has been given a more specific time. Instead of the previous ‘Summer 2007′ it is now ‘July 2007′. So we can expect to get the game in just a couple of months. A few sites are now starting to give the 6th of July for the UK and 10th for the US. Now, to me this is great news because it’s not often the UK gets good games before the American’s do, so it’s feels good to get an highly anticipated game like tis earlier! I’m off to mark my calender!

Jack Thompson not giving up!

Jack Thompson, the American attourney and games activist lost a law suite to Rockstar Games a couple of months ago. To try and get back at them, he has now sent a letter to the fast food chain Wendy’s in an attempt to stop them promoting the Nintendo Wii. And due to the fact that Manhunt 2 is being released on that format [As well as a few others], Jack thinks it would be fine to just sue even more companies [Even though the promotion Wendy's are doing has absolutley nothing to do with Manhunt 2 itself] And thanks to ShackNews, here is the letter wrote by Jack himself.

EA Games mocking GTA IV?

A few days ago a new EA Games website went live with the url being http://www.ea.com/xxii [Site no longer available], the site featured a splash page which contained the same font used for ‘IV’ aka GTA.  The site is obviously promoting a Simpson’s game [Probably for the movie] but they are doing it GTA IV style. Now, although this isn’t really Rockstar Games news, I thought you should all see it for a laugh!

The Loose ends in GTA

GamesRadar have just done a very interesting article on the past loose ends of the GTA games.  The article covers every single one including the portable outings. GTA IV on 360 limited

During an interview with Dan Houser, OPSM managed to reveal that the Xbox 360 is limiting GTA IV. Heres what was asked:

“On PS3 you’ve got a guarantee that every machine is going to have a hard-drive and, with Blu-ray, you’ve got plenty of storage, whereas on Xbox 360 there’s no guarantee of a hard-drive and you’re working with the DVD format. Does that create limitations?”

The answer was “Yep”.  But he then continued:

“To be honest with you we haven’t solved all those riddles yet. Both have enormous challenges” and that “both have their own particular pleasures and pains”.

So 360 owners don’t have to worry as both console versions will have their ups and downs .

1up Manhunt 2 preview

1up have just done a Manhunt 2 preview [Who now hasn't? ] They mostly talk about already known features although I managed to spot at the end a very interesting piece of info.

‘While the game will be mostly identical on PS2, PSP and Wii, there will be subtle differences like the ability to use voice commands on PS2 (but not on PSP) and the obvious control changes that come with the Wii version. Rockstar is silent on specifics there, so hopefully we’ll be able to find out more before the game’s July ship date.’

Does this mean you can now talk in the game? I hope so! Although, this probabaly just means you can control AI during escort mission, but we’ll just have to wait and see

New Facts:
- Virtually no returning characters
- Pop up is limited. You can see for miles
- Litter is present on the streets
- You can change outfits but you can’t change your physique
- Niko is in his mid thirties so “Don’t expect to see him riding pushbikes or flying jetpacks”
- The mob is features but not heavily
- The police are more heavily featured than ever before
- Sixaxis isn’t in yet and R* aren’t sure if it will be
- Definately online, not MMORPG
- You decide who to ring
- When asked about custom soundtracks using your consoles hard drive, Dan Houser answered “Possibly”
- Property buying and empire building is cut down
- Nico may be able to do legitimate work too
- The city will be full of leisure activities
